2025 India Emerging Risk Survey - A Joint Primary Research by SOA Research Institute and IAI

In partnership with the Indian Actuarial Institute (IAI), the SOA Research Institute has launched its survey-based research on emerging risks in India. A joint committee comprising two members from IAI and two from SOA are supervising the entire research. During January 2025, the questionnaire has been developed for survey, which has been specially customised for the Indian respondents.

This survey considers current risks and emerging risks from the point of view of actuaries and risk managers working in the India market.  Emerging risks are risks that have either not previously occurred or have not occurred for such a long period of time that they are often not considered for short-term risk planning. The lack of credible historical data can create a formidable challenge for risk managers. So, respondents to the survey have been advised to presume a 3–5-year strategic planning horizon while reviewing potential risks. Responses are anonymous and multiple responses from an organization are encouraged.

The questionnaire has been distributed to people in the risk management profession in India and responses are going to be collected over the month of February 2025. The data will be mined, and preliminary results are expected in the middle of March.
