Actuarial firms continue to expand global delivery centers in India and elsewhere to serve their US and other clients. While these delivery centers execute hundreds if not thousands of projects, at times, the physical distance and time differences can make it difficult for global professionals to obtain context or client perspective.
This session will broadly outline the US pension system and highlight some of the dramatic recent developments in the pension environment including changes in interest rates and mortality. The webcast will connect this context with the resulting pressures clients are likely experiencing.

I am working as a Delivery Manager at Mercer. My responsibility includes managing workflow and delivering actuarial valuation work to various Mercer offices in US from Mercer Global services office based in India. Overall, I have 14+ years’ experience in the pension industry, primarily around US pension schemes, and reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. Apart from US pensions, I have worked on multiple geographies like Thailand, UAE & Japan valuations. I am also the training lead at Mercer (India), whereby my role is to understand the training requirement and manage the trainings for the new hires.

Tim is a managing director with Deloitte Consulting where he serves as the business leader for Deloitte’s core actuarial services across all actuarial disciplines. Tm has previously served as Deloitte’s leader for actuarial and advanced analytics services in India, overseeing practitioners supporting the US, Indian, and global markets. Tim is a member of the Academy of Actuaries pension practice council and the Society of Actuaries Retirement Plan Experience Committee. He graduated from the University of Michigan.
